About the Journal
ORIGIN OF RBDC
Every professional needs to be able to independently solve the problems they face, they need to be able to analyze, criticize and reflect, using safe methods of argumentation and verification of possible solutions (facets of thought and the scientific method) . The construction of this profile of intellectual autonomy has always been one of the differentiating goals of the educational philosophy of the Escola Superior de Direito Constitucional - ESDC.
The Brazilian Journal of Constitutional Law - RBDC updated the purpose of ESDC: to be a path of specialization, of advanced studies in Constitutional Law.
Initially developed with the purpose of constituting a differentiated source of studies for ESDC postgraduate courses, due to the recognition of its quality, it was necessarily expanded in its purposes, becoming a publication aimed at the entire national legal community and international.
Furthermore, due to the high number of requests received from the most diverse public and private institutions, based on the assertion that the RBDC was continuously and routinely used by countless professionals in their work, ESDC granted free access to its academic-scientific project. As of No. 8 (Jul./Dec. 2006), therefore, the RBDC also adopted the freely accessible electronic version.
TODAY'S RBDC
The Brazilian Journal of Constitutional Law - RBDC is a publication intended to publish scientific works (original, review and scientific dissemination) by researchers and teachers from national, foreign and international institutions that contribute to the development of CONSTITUTIONAL LAW.
RBDC has CONTINUOUS FLOW and accepts works written in Portuguese, Spanish, English and Italian. Texts are published in one of these languages; with titles, abstracts and keywords in all languages mentioned.
Although RBDC was interrupted for 8 (eight) years, from 2016 to 2023, it has not lost its national and international scientific relevance. Just note that its h5 index (Google Scholar metric for scientific journals that only considers the last 5 years) keeps it among the first scientific journals in the area of constitutional law with the highest h5 index in the world and in the area of law in Brazil.
Having renewed and reinvigorated its objectives and its team, RBDC resumes its biannual production, now with a continuous flow not only for submission, but also for publication.
